Cats in Need of Sponsorship

Blue Moon

A beautiful Russian Blue with a spot of white on his neck, Blue Moon recently graduated from living outdoors in our catio to joining the main room inside the cattery. When he first came to Misfit Rescue from a hoarding situation, he was undersocialized and afraid. With time and love, he has become a friendly, observant boy who always has a wide-eyed expression.

Tigger

20251115_131804_edited.jpg

A giant boy of nearly 20 pounds with an adorable snaggletooth, Tigger resembles a Norwegian Forest cat and has an absolutely glorious presence. He has made many a heart swoon and try to win his affection, but his loyalty to his rescue mom, Julie Davis, runs deep and he has made Misfit Rescue his home. He enjoys lounging in a hammock and receiving adoration from his admirers.

Heartnose

Heartnose is a darling dumpling of a cat who lived his entire life outdoors until he was brought in as a TNR. Well into his senior years and without a safe place to return to, Heartnose took up residence at Misfit Rescue. As an undersocialized cat who was not exposed to humans at an early age, he spends most of his time out of sight in the cattery. The volunteer team is patiently waiting for him to come out in his own time, with the goal of socializing him to human touch and companionship.

Monroe

Monroe is a striking short-haired cat with charcoal markings splashed over a clean white coat. He came to Misfit Rescue from Pine Canyon, Utah, where Julie trapped and helped rehabilitate many cats back to health.
Monroe isn’t socialized or comfortable with close human interaction, but he thrives in his own way and would do best as a barn cat, where he can live safely with space and purpose. Sponsoring Monroe helps ensure he continues to receive care while living a life that suits his independent nature.

edward G. Robinson

Edward G. Robinson is a short-haired tabby with a serious, distinguished air that suits his name perfectly. About 10 years old, he was saved from a tough life outdoors and now enjoys the safety and care of Misfit Rescue. Thoughtful and observant, Edward carries himself with quiet dignity. Sponsorship helps ensure this seasoned gentleman continues to receive the comfort and stability he deserves in his golden years.

Goldie

Goldie is a short-haired tabby with stunning green eyes and a quiet, radiant grace. She’s available for sponsorship at Misfit Rescue and recently survived a serious health scare that required several days of hospitalization—pulled through by the love, dedication, and commitment of her caregivers. Now recovering well, Goldie is the perfect blend of friendly and shy, offering gentle affection while keeping a bit of softness for herself. Her inner beauty shines just as brightly as her eyes, and sponsorship helps support her continued healing and care.

Darling

Darling is an introspective, gorgeous girl with intense eyes who came to Misfit Rescue with her daughter. She spends most of her days peering out from behind furniture and is not completely comfortable with humans yet, but she will allow soft, gentle pets. She is kind and quiet, and we are grateful to give her a safe home indoors.

Hans

Hans is Misfit Rescue's resident lady killer. With his blue bedroom eyes, sturdy build, and flirtatious nature, he is easy to fall in love with. Thought to be feral, he originally came to the rescue from a community cat colony where he had lived outdoors for many years unneutered. It was quickly discovered that was the sweetest old tomcat on earth, and he is now enjoying his retirement lying on the countertop and charming his girlfriends for more food.

Sylvester

Sylvester is a senior cat who came to Misfit Rescue as a package deal with 15 other cats when his owner passed away. (Originally from New York, he  drove all the way to Utah with his owner many years ago!) He is still adjusting to his new life and environment, but with his gentle disposition and strong bond with his friends, we think he will do just fine.

Pretty Girl

Pretty Girl is a long-haired Siamese Chocolate Point with a quiet strength and a gentle soul. Found at a Wells Fargo bank in fall 2024, she’s about 10 years old and has since had one eye removed due to infection—an experience that hasn’t dimmed her soft spirit.
She has the sweetest habit of peeking at you from behind furniture, watching carefully with curiosity and caution. Still learning to trust humans, Pretty Girl is a tender heart in progress, and sponsorship helps give her the time, care, and patience she needs to continue healing and feeling safe.

Yogi

Yogi is an older female cat with the classic tabby marking of an "M" on her forehead. She has a beautiful brown and gray coat and expressive eyes.
Shy and reserved, Yogi still seems unsure on where she stands with humans, but she is enjoying her new home with us, relaxing in her cubby hole and enjoying food with her friends.

Jasmine

Jasmine is a sleek black beauty who is timid and tends to hide. After her owner passed away, she came to the rescue with several of her friends, where she received some much-needed dental work.
Now free of pain and in a calm environment, we are working with Jasmine to build her trust and show their sweet side.

Cloud

Miss Cloud is a petite girl with the cutest little face who is a mixture of sugar and spice (mostly spice). She was part of a TNR project where she was spayed after having numerous litters of kittens back to back. Upon examination, doctors discovered she was very sick with fibroids in her uterus, a URI, and painful dental disease. Due to her conditions, she was made a Misfit and now, fully recovered, she spends her days playing and swatting at those who feed her.

Ziggy

Ziggy is the epitome of amazing. Born with a defect in his front legs that turns his paws inward and makes it so that he slithers instead of walks, he is a happy-go-lucky people lover who will crawl atop anyone who sits on the floor.  It is believed he was abandoned at a community cat colony, where he was found near a busy road.  Arriving at the rescue undernourished but high spirited, he is a testament to the resilience and fortitude of felines.

Taffy

Taffy, also known as Spaz Taffy, is  a true wild child who lives by her own rules. She was saved from euthanasia at the shelter by a fellow cat rescuer, only to be brought to Misfit Rescue after biting her new owner a bit too hard (we're still waiting to hear Taffy's side of the story). At the rescue, Taffy decided that she preferred to live outdoors, where she inspects the roof of cars and is the star of her own show.

Batman

Picsart_25-09-30_12-40-03-973_edited_edi

It's easy to see how Batman got his name. With his black mask of fur, white neck and chest, and sleek, muscular body, he bears a striking resemblance to the superhero!
Batman came to the rescue with his friends Sylvester, Yogi, and  Jasmine. Understandably frightened and shy at first, he is warming up to his new caretakers and enjoys a calm, reassuring touch.

Millie

Millie is a short-haired orange and white beauty who came to Misfit Rescue from Pine Canyon, Utah, where Julie helped trap and rehabilitate many cats in need. Like others from her colony, Millie is not socialized to people and prefers to keep her distance, making her best suited for life as a barn cat. She’s independent, alert, and comfortable living on her own terms. Sponsorship helps provide Millie with ongoing care and a safe future in an environment where she can thrive.

Tippy

20251024_110101_edited.png

A young, playful tuxedo cat, Tippy was rescued off the streets of Salt Lake City due to a suspected neurological condition. However, doctors gave this dapper boy a clean bill of health. Not able to be returned to a safe place outdoors with access to food and water, Tippy joined the Misfit crew. Although he is currently skittish and not handleable, everyday he grows more accustomed to humans and we hope to move him to our adoptable list one day soon.

Tyrone

Tyrone is a talkative, energetic young boy who showed up at the rescue one day and decided to make it his home. No one knows where he came from or how he got there, but he has become a fixture outside, entertaining all those who pass with his playful antics, jumping in cars and protecting the grounds from any passing dogs.

Robbie

IMG_6237-preview.JPG

Robbie is the oldest cat at Misfit Rescue at around 18 years of age. He came to us after his beloved owner passed away. He is known as "huggie bear" because he loves to sit on whoever is around and wraps his arms around their neck.

He has lost his hearing but not his affectionate, gentle heart. He is a perfect example of why senior cats are so special: they just want safety, love, and place to call home. We are happy to provide him this.
